First AMMA Summer School : AMMASS/1 |

The Co-ordination Committee of AMMA (CCMA) is pleased to announce that the first AMMA Summer School (AMMASS/1) will take place at the 'Centre de Recherches Atmosphériques' of Campistrous near Lannemezan, France, September 1-12, 2003.
Eligible candidates must fulfil criteria attached to this announcement. Being involved with at least one of the AMMA theme will be a plus.
The multidisciplinary aspect of the African Monsoon as well as the importance of scale interactions will be emphasised (see preliminary syllabus attached). Linkages with applications such as food security, water management and public health will be highlighted.
Registration, food and lodging are free of charge. It will be appreciated if your institution/organisation could finance transportation. If not, please contact us as soon as possible at:

Final selection for trainees will be at the end of April/ beginning of May. Please note that you must have a proper health insurance in order to attend AMMASS/1.
After attending the school, it is anticipated that successful trainees will be in a position of developing joint research projects, and participate actively in the AMMA project itself.
Complete folder must include a short CV, as well as a letter showing interests in participating in AMMA. Folder may be mailed/E-mailed prior to April 15, 2003.
