International Conference on Desertification and Land Degradation in the Mediterranean Basin
Organised by Asociacion Meteorologica Espanola (AME), the French Meteorological Society (SMF) and MEDIAS-FRANCE,"MEDESERT'96" will be held in Barcelona, Spain, in June 17-21, 1996.
The objective of "Medesert'96" is to analyse the actual situation of drought, land degradation and desertification advance in these areas, to study the causes of these problems, and to find the best solutions in order to prevent their effects and to consider the most appropriate strategy to solve the problems in short or medium term scenarios.
