Ideal - The international Decade for the East African Lakes

The Second International Symposium on the Limnology, Climatology and Paleoclimatology of the East African Lakes will be held from 10th to 13th January, 2000 in Makokola, Malawi.

This is a first call for papers/poster abstracts for the above mentioned forthcoming meeting which will be centred around seven themes as indicated below:
- Theme 1: Geological and structural setting of the East African lakes.
- Theme 2: Climate dynamics and climate variability in the East African lakes region.
- Theme 3: Hydrology and Physical Limnology.
- Theme 4: Aquatic Chemistry: Physical and Biological Aspects.
- Theme 5: Food Webs and Fisheries
- Theme 6: Sedimentary Processes, Paleoclimate and Paleoenvironment
- Theme 7: Anthropogenic and Natural Impacts
Those interested in participating in the symposium should forward an abstract, specifying the theme of interest, and full contact details to the address given above
Deadline for submission of abstracts is 30 September, 1999.
Some travel funds will be available.
Contributors should, therefore, indicate whether they can attend without travel funds or, if in need of partial support, should specify the amount required.
