à Effet de Serre
Problématique scientifique et objectifs
L'Observatoire de Recherche en Environnement RAMCES a
pour objectif la description des cycles biogéochimiques des
principaux gaz à effet de serre additionnel (CO
2
, CH
4
, N
2
O,
SF
6
), et la quantification des bilans de carbone à l'échelle
régionale grâce au suivi à long terme des concentrations
atmosphériques de ces composés. L'atmosphère «de fond»
est un réservoir facile d'accès et relativement homogène où
la mesure à haute précision des gaz à effet de serre à longue
durée de vie permet de suivre l'évolution du forçage radiatif
et de déterminer les sources et puits à la surface du globe.
Notre approche consiste à interpréter les observations du
réseau de mesures atmosphériques à l'aide de modèles de
transport atmosphérique en contraignant les flux d'échange
avec la surface pour minimiser les écarts entre observations
et simulations.

Scientific Issues and Objectives
The objective of the RAMCES Observatory for Research on the
Environment (ORE) is to describe the biogeochemical cycles of
the principal gases responsible for the additional greenhouse
effect (CO
2
, CH
4
, N
2
O, SF
6
), and to quantify regional-scale car-
bon budgets by long-term monitoring of the atmospheric con-
centration of these compounds. The background atmosphere is
an easily accessible and relatively homogeneous reservoir, in
which high-precision measurement of long-lived greenhouse
gases makes it possible to follow the evolution of radiative forc-
ing and to determine the sources and sinks at the surface of the
Earth. Our approach consists in interpreting atmospheric mea-
surement network data with the help of atmospheric transport
models, constraining the exchange fluxes with the surface in
order to minimise the differences between observations and
simulations.
Methods and Parameters Measured
The RAMCES measurement sites are located in two regions: the
