Weather forecasting
The forecast for tomorrow is confirmed : high altitude clouds and weak winds from W-NW (maxima of 10 knots at 1000 m).
On Friday, high pressure : sunny conditions, clear sky (altocumulus and cirrus in the evening only).

Instrumentation (news):
The Condor is likely to be installed onboard the Piper Aztec on Friday morning.
Today the Piper Aztec made 1 flight (Landes 270° flight plan) and the Sky Arrow (IBIMET) 3 flights.

Status of the experiment:

IOP n°1 continuing on Thursday and Friday

Measurements tomorrow Thursday :
- Radiosondes : La Cape Sud 5H, 8H, 11H, 14H, 17H UTC.
Toulouse 11H UTC

- 2 flights with the Piper Aztec : take off at 9:00 am LT and 2:30 pm LT from Francazal. Flight plan 'Landes' 270° in the morning and 'Landes' 270° or 300° the afternoon (to be decided tomorrow morning during the briefing according to the updated weather conditions). Flasks sampling during vertical profile (600 ft, 1200 ft, 8400 ft for morning flight and 600, 1800, 8400 ft for afternoon flight).
- 3 flights with the Sky Arrow (IBIMET).
- No drifting balloons.

Envisaged measurements on Friday :
- Radiosondes : La Cape Sud 5H, 8H, 11H, 14H, 17H UTC.
Toulouse 11H UTC
- 1 flight with Piper Aztec (Landes flight plan) take off at 2:30 pm LT (the morning flight is cancelled in order to install the CONDOR)
- 3 flights with the Sky Arrow (IBIMET)
- 2 flights with the Sky Arrow (ISAFOM).
- No drifting balloons.

Report on today Regional Experiment briefing

Weather forecasting
Today, conditions are less favorable than expected with a cloudy sky (Cumulus and Congestus in mid- and high altitudes). An improvement is expected from 16:00 TU with clear skies during the night (northwest flow). Tomorrow, AltoCumulus and Cirrus clouds are expected with west-southwest winds in the lower layers and west at 1500m (10 to 15 knots) but no rain. On Friday, high pressure : clear sky but altocumulus and cirrus in the evening (Southwesterly flow 10 knots at 1500m)
On Saturday and Sunday, convective and unstable weather with possible thunderstorms (southwest flow).

Instrumentation (news):
The Condor is likely to be installed onboard the Piper Aztec Thursday evening.
Radiosonde sounding in La Cape Sud this morning (5H UTC)

Status of the experiment:

Today : IOP n°1 continuing on Thursday and Friday

Because of the worsening of the weather conditions, the release of the radiosondes and the Piper flight plan have been adapted.

Envisaged measurements Today:
Radiosondes : only at 17H UTC in La Cape Sud (no RS in Toulouse)
1 flight in the afternoon with Piper Aztec: take off 12H30 L.T. from Francazal (1 profile in Marmande).
2 or 3 flights with the Sky Arrow (IBIMET).
No drifting balloons.

Envisaged measurements on Thursday :
Radiosondes : La Cape Sud 5H, 8H, 11H, 14H, 17H UTC on Thursday.
Toulouse 11H UTC
2 flights with Piper Aztec (Landes flight plan) : take off 9:00 and 2:30 LT
3 flights with the Sky Arrow (IBIMET).
