Sec. : Aurore Brut Weather forecasting The forecast for tomorrow is confirmed but the wind should be stronger than previously said at Bordeaux (25 knots at 1500m near the coast and decreasing toward the Eastern part of the domain). The wind flow is from southwest in the western part and from southeast in Toulouse with temperature around 28°C. A convective activity is expected in the West from 6:00 p.m. local time. On Saturday, unstable weather and AltoCumulus clouds. Instrumentation (news): Today the Piper Aztec made 2 flights (Landes 270° flight plan) and the Sky Arrow (IBIMET) 4 flights. Status of the experiment: IOP n°1 continuing until tomorrow (Friday) evening Measurements for tomorrow, Friday : - Radiosondes : La Cape Sud 5H, 8H, 11H, 14H, 17H UTC. Toulouse 11H UTC - 1 flight with the Piper Aztec : take off at 2:15 pm LT from Francazal. Flight plan 'Landes' with an ascending and descending profile in Marmande (comparison with Sky Arrow). Sec.: Aurore Brut Weather forecasting Today, excellent conditions for an IOP : clear sky with moderate west winds (10-15 knots) at 1500m and weak winds in lower layers. Tomorrow, the anticyclonic conditions continue : a few Cirrus clouds in the morning, and AltoCumulus clouds in the evening. The wind blows from west/southwest in higher layers (15-20 knots) and from northwest in lower layers. Warm temperatures expected : 25-26°C. On Saturday, high altitude clouds in the morning and unstable conditions arrive over the region during the afternoon : possible thunderstorms. On Sunday, unstable conditions for the whole day with cloudy sky and possible showers. The low pressure situation is likely to continue until Tuesday. Instrumentation : The Condor system will be installed onboard the Piper Aztec on Friday morning. Status of the experiment: Today : IOP n°1 day n°2. IOP n°1 will stop on Friday evening.
