Report on today afternoon briefing

Weather forecasting :

Tuesday, the residual humidity allows the presence of clouds during the morning in Les Landes. At midday Westerly flow advects clouds to the East of the domain. During the afternoon clouds above 1500m and few cumulus below are expected. The wind is regular from W-NW, 10 kt between 800 and 1000m. No thunderstorms.
Wednesday, clear sky in the morning, but high level clouds in Les Landes in the afternoon, light winds from SW lower than 10 kt. Thursday, anticyclonic conditions, clear sky, wind flow from SW and very weak speed expected.

Status of the experiment :

Alert D-1 : IOP5 starts tomorrow and possible continue on Wednesday
Measurements tomorrow :
Radiosondes : in La Cape Sud : 5, 8, 11, 14, 17 UTC
in Toulouse : 11 UTC
Piper : Lagrangian fligh plan at 11:00 LT for the west leg, the hour of the east leg according to the wind speed (probably 16:00 LT).
Dimona : Langragian flight plan 13:00-17:00 LT from Biscarosse to La Cape Sud
No Drifting Balloon
No Sky Arrow

Weather forecasting :
Today, thunderstorms are expected in South West of France (little risk in Les Landes).
Tuesday, in the morning the cloudiness is very important because of residual humidity (stratocumulus). The afternoon is likely to remain cloudy with cumulus and high level clouds (6 octas). In les Landes, clear sky in the evening only. The wind is regular from W-NW, 10 to 15 kt between 0 and 1000m. The forecasting for Tuesday will be updated during this afternoon briefing (particularly for cloudiness).
Wednesday, clear sky in the morning, but high level clouds in Les Landes in the afternoon, light winds from SW lower than 10 kt.
Thursday, anticyclonic conditions, clear sky, wind flow from SW and very weak speed expected.
